On the night of February 14, international partners supporting Puntland in the fight against terrorism carried out an airstrike in the Calmiskaad Mountains, targeting a key site used by ISIS militants to prepare explosives and rig vehicles for attacks.
Two bomb-making facilities were hit during the strike, with one confirmed to have been completely destroyed. Powerful explosions were heard in the area as a result of the strike. Just a night earlier, a large vehicle believed to be loaded with explosives was also destroyed in a separate attack.
On the ground, Puntland Defense Forces (PDF) made significant progress in their ongoing anti-terrorism operation, securing new positions and expanding their control. The bodies of militant fighters and abandoned weapons are increasingly being discovered in the mountains, indicating the heavy losses suffered by the group.
Additionally, two attacks launched by ISIS militants were successfully repelled, with the group failing to achieve their intended objectives. Despite the losses and destruction, Puntland remains united and determined in its fight against these terrorist elements.
